Hi, there. I'm "torijun" living in Asakusa, Tokyo. I am 30 years old, living with my wife and have no children.
I was born in Kawasaki-city and live there for 28years. After marriage, I have moved to Asakusa with my wife. Because Asakusa is very traditional and is not trendy and vivid area in Tokyo, usually female consider Asakusa as the town for grandfather or grandmother (elderly people) and does not prefer to live there. In my case, it took 6 month to persuade someone to move.
In my personal opinion, the charming point of Asakusa town is the neighborhood. Neighborhood is the warm and friendly hospitality, I can't exactly express in English, though. Recently in Tokyo, person-to-person relationships are getting individualizing, so that no communication made between neighbors. My "good words to live by" is "human can grow by communion of heart with heart". I can't believe to bring up my children in these lonely environment. Before my marriage with my wife, I had looked for the place where good communication exists. Finally I have found the town, Asakusa. That's why I live in Asakusa.
When I go to supermarket near Kaminari-mon, Lots of foreign people visit to Asakusa and have a good time. And sometimes they ask me "where is ..." or "what is ..." with the guide book. I used to tell them the place where neighbors only knows, because my hobby is also travel around the world and prefer to visit where the guide book does not introduce, like neighbor's bar or small museum. This is the trigger to provide the tourist information from the neighborhood's point of view. They are interested in Asakusa, where I live. They are interested in Asakusa, where I proud to live. They are interested in Asakusa, where I can do something for their good.
I hope you to come to Asakusa, and to feel the warm hospitality and proactive (sometimes aggressive) communication with neighborhood. Thank you.

Known for its old-town atmosphere and historic Buddhist temples, Asakusa is one of Tokyo's most traditional neighborhoods. The finest part of Asakusa is centered upon several blocks around the centuries-old Asakusa Kannon Temple, or Sensoji, which itself is the main attraction of this area. Come and feel something of the old-world charm as the commercial and entertainment center for the townspeople of the Edo times, and enjoy the locals' lively lifestyle in this day and age.
Asakusa-Samurai.com is established in Tokyo, Japan, which is to let visitors know the real life in Asakusa area. Please enjoy sightseeing with us. Thank you.
